Furious 7 Movie Review

“Furious 7” is in all honesty one of the most ridiculous over the top movie ever. Seriously, how many of these movies are they going to make? Now this is where I double back over myself; yes the entire movie premise was ridiculous, but it worked; making “Furious 7” the best movie of the entire franchise.

They did a really good job tying in the previous six movies, explaining certain things from the past, introducing new information that was unknown from the past, and making a clean break from Paul Walker’s character going forward.

As you may know, Paul Walker died during the filming of “Furious 7” and so instead of killing off his character (as they were originally planning to do after his real life death), they finished filming the movie with Paul’s brother, Cody Walker; which worked, for the most part, but not every part.

What about the fights scenes? I believe that a good fight scene needs to be realistic, as in what if. In “Furious 7” there is The Rock-vs-Jason Statham, which was a good fight and could work in real life. There was also Vin Diesel-vs-Jason Statham, which was also a good fight and could work in real life. The fight that didn’t work for me was Michelle Rodriguez-vs-Ronda Rousey, because there is no way that Michelle could hold her own against a champion of Ronda Rousey’s abilities…Rousey would straight up kick Rodriguez’s ass.

Anytime you can put in a big machine gun in The Rock’s hands Schwarzenegger style, you know you have a full on action movie. Plus the added benefit of Kurt Russell playing “the Man”, and doing a kickass job doing it.

The movie really did a great job bringing the entire movie history together, and one of the best movies to do so. They also did right by Paul Walker by making this film a tribute to his work, and it was the perfect goodbye for all of us; the ending was very warm and heartfelt.

I seriously cannot say enough about this movie because I absolutely loved it (cheesy ridiculousness and all). I give this movie two gigantic thumbs up, and I recommend seeing this in theaters.
