Homemade French Bread Pizza is the quickest make yourself at home type pizza

Just slice the loaf in half length ways and add toppings. We sliced it in half and then sliced each half into the sizes that each of us wanted, and then topped our own.

Mine was with homemade red sauce, sautéed mushrooms, black olives, and a ridiculous amount of Mozzarella cheese.

The World’s End Movie Review

“The World’s End” wraps up the Cornetto Trilogy, but as much as I was looking forward to it, it was the worst of the three movies.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, especially when they are together, and so I might be a little biased when reviewing this movie. With that said, “The World’s End” doesn’t deviate too much from the rest of the trilogy when it comes to drinking, pubs, and Nick Frost being the faithful sidekick.
However, I believe that Mr. Frost holds his own in this flick, and outshines Pegg for the person to be drawn to; not to mention, he kicks major butt.
The movie is two movies in one, and I can sadly relate to Simon Pegg’s character; not on a personal level, but I know too many people still mentally stuck in their teen years who refuse to grow up. Life moves on but somehow they don’t.
Can the movie stand on its own? No! I like it for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. I like it for being British. I like it for being a part of the so ever cleaver Cornetto Trilogy. There are lots of things that I liked about, but nothing I loved about it. I give “The World’s End” one thumb up and I recommend you wait to see it when it is released on DVD.
As Nick Frost’s character would say, “We went organic in a big way”.

Taco…err…Breakfast Burrito

I was craving a breakfast burrito (I hate saying that word because growing up it was a taco, but I won’t go off on my normal rant of taco vs. burrito because folks will think I’m crazier than I am) and so I made some up for the family. I kept it simple with potatoes, eggs, cheese, and tomatoes in a flour tortilla. The meal is easy and quick, in part because I parboil the potatoes as part of the prep. Pan to plate in no time at all.

Who doesn’t love Homemade Blueberry Pancakes?

In your house are they called pancakes, hotcakes, flap jacks, griddle cakes, or something else? Dang…that looks like a lot of butter now that I am looking at the pics, but I will say that it is to be shared among 4 pancakes…at least that is what I am telling myself.

Quick and Easy Mushrooms on Toast

Sunday morning my son and I got up before everyone (the usual) and had ourselves a quick flavorful breakfast of mushrooms on toast. The food was nothing more than a simple mushroom and garlic sauté on toasted store bought white bread, but it is something that my son and enjoy and can share since no one else in the house likes it.
