“John Wick” is a pretty bad-ass action flick. Don’t get me wrong…it is cheesy, violent, and a straight rip off of anything that Jason Statham would star in (including the lack of dialog from the main character…very Statham like); however, that is why people love these movies.
“Are you saying that John Wick is the boogeyman?”
“No…he’s who you send to hunt the boogeyman.”
Keanu Reeves is Keanu Reeves, but this role fits him. Keanu is not a great actor…at all, but I don’t care because he is one of those people that I give a pass to because I like him so much.
SPOILER…everybody dies…even the dog.
There is one simple fact that could make this film a game changer for the entire action genre, and set “John Wick” up as one the greatest action movies ever…and that fact is…everyone dies (wait…I just said that in the spoiler alert…wait…keep reading).
Most every movie of this type (possibly every action movie ever made) has the same formula that never made sense to me, and that is...not everyone dies.
Hero goes in and shoots a couple guys…they die.
Hero flips another guy over his shoulder…never see the guy again (not dead though).
Hero shoots another guy…dead.
Hero punches or kicks another guy or two…never see them again (not dead though).
This is where “John Wick” is different.
JW goes in and shoots a couple guys…they die.
JW flips another guy over his shoulder…then shoots them…they die.
JW shoots another guy…dead.
JW punches or kicks another guy or two…then shoots them…they die.
Seriously…there was no baddy escaping this movie, and that is what separates this film from all of the others.
That point alone is fantastic, but not enough to totally save the movie. I give “John Wick” one thumb up, and I recommend you wait to see it when it is released on DVD.

How Does DJ Cowboy Eat Lemon Cake?
The one, the only, the first...The Original DJ Cowboy.
What can you say about this man? He actually knows everyone. He does everything. He is an accomplished actor. He is part of the music scene. He makes appearances, opens clubs, is known far and wide, and the biggest of all of his accomplishments is being so successful at what he does that others copy him. Imitation is the biggest form of flattery (it also sucks). There are people out there taking his name, stealing his act, pretending to be him…but when all the smoke clears and the BS is pushed aside…it is clear who the real is, and who are just pretending.
DJ Cowboy is the real deal, and he knows how to throw down a lemon cake.

Byron Beck Eats Lemon Cake on Camera
Byron Beck knows absolutely everything about what is going on in our little part of the world. Nothing gets by him…not a celebrity…not an event. This is the person to know because A-listers search him out.
Byron Beck joined the Lemon Cake Initiative and ate lemon cake, even though his dad told him to never eat on camera (thank you for disobeying your dad).
Byron is the real deal, and that is part of what makes him great at what he does. Thank you sir for helping me out and taking the time to do so.

Tommy Habetz Joins the Lemon Cake Initiative
If you don’t know who Tommy Habetz is then you better get your head out of your ass and wake up. Tommy was a chef before being a chef was “cool”, and now he is the most laid back down-to-earth person you would ever meet. Is he famous? Hell yeah he is. Then why isn’t he on TV? Because he chooses not to be.
Think about it? Chef Habetz successfully worked alongside Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich…he is the freaking man. Forget the TV personalities though, because Chef Tommy can stand on his own two feet.
Out of everyone that has helped me on my Lemon Cake Initiative; Tommy Habetz is the one person that I wanted to say yes more than anyone (no offence to everyone else that has helped me). Realistically I wanted/needed a chef of Tommy’s caliber to validate my cooking, which he did and I have been on “Cloud 9” ever since.
If you are in the Portland, OR area and you haven’t been to BUNK then you need to go. In fact…put it on your bucket list and make a trip to this part of the world just to eat Tommy’s food (I’m sure there are other things to do here as well…just not as tasty).

Tod Foulk and Party Eat Lemon Cake
FASHION LEGEND ICON…who do you think of when you hear those words? If Tod Foulk isn’t on your list…well then you are stupid, because Tod is the man that helps keep us beautiful.
Tod Foulk is a legend, and even though my Lemon Cake Initiative doesn’t really have anything to do with the world of fashion…Tod said screw it, let’s do it anyways.
This video is just a glimpse into the celebration that is Tod’s life. We could have filmed for hours. The best part of the night was actually sharing my lemon cakes with a few “starving” women who were actually hungry (and since they already fit into their dresses I have to assume…“why not”).
Tod Foulk loves life and it shows.

Dave Owen & Drunken Dave Eat Lemon Cake!!!!
Check out my cameo in this video…
Director and Producer Dave Owen tried some of my lemon cake on camera to show his support for the Chris Allred Lemon Cake Initiative.
Unfortunately any love I had for the guy went out the window after her called Drunken Dave over and then took off…literally left me there with him for an hour (maybe I rounded it up to the nearest hour…who knows).
Then my family ditches me. I don’t know how many songs Drunken Dave sang to me. I think he kissed me 3 times. Hugged me about 100 times. He showed me pictures of him and his wife (also called driver’s licenses). Explained horse racing, car racing, and movie making to me.
Drunken Dave had a lot of great adventures in life and a bunch of exciting stories. The moral of the story is you never know who you will meet; like I met Drunken Dave, the son of the founder of Warner Bros.
Seriously…I love Dave Owen. He is a great and talented person. If you haven’t seen any of his stuff, check out his page, find what he has done, and then go and watch.
